Reported for client UNIQ Supply (custom disposables manufacturer, 5 reps, 100k+ emails a month): 1,061 leads in 70 days, 86% qualified in HubSpot, 8 deals closed.
Instead of guessing an ICP, start from your product's volume: who goes through enough of it to need a supplier like you? Ask AI to list every business type that fits, then build lists for the odd ones nobody else is emailing. In his words: "This is how we found megachurches."

If you sell: run it before your 10am
- Write down what you sell and the volume a good customer buys (units per month, per site, per event).
- Ask Claude to list every business type that burns through that volume, including unusual ones.
- Cross off the obvious, crowded segments and pick 2 or 3 surprising ones.
- Build a list for each segment and write one email per segment about why they burn through it.
- Send, then judge segments by qualified leads and closed deals, not opens.
We sell [product]. A good customer buys about [volume] per [month/site/event]. List every type of business or organization that would use that much, including unusual ones most sellers would miss. For each give: why they use so much, roughly how many exist in [region], who usually buys it there (title), and one line on what triggers a reorder. Rank by how few other suppliers likely target them. Say which ones you are unsure about.
If you lead a team: roll it out
- Run the prompt as a team exercise and give each rep one surprising segment to own for a month.
Watch out for
- An agency's client result told by the agency; the post ends with "DM me your website" (an offer, not a gate on the method).
- 100k+ emails a month is a big sending setup; the segment idea works at any size.
